SEATTLE — Kelsey Plum scored 37 points on 10-of-22 shooting from the field to lead the University of Washinigton women’s basketball team to a 96-82 victory over South Dakota on Thursday at Alaska Airlines Arena.
Plum had 21 points in the first half, as the Huskies (1-1) opened up a nine-point lead at the break after pulling away midway through the opening period.
Jazmine Davis added 16 points, Aminah Williams scored 14 and Katie Collier chipped in 10 for the Huskies, who led by as many as 23 in the second half.
Nicole Seekamp led South Dakota (2-2) with 19 points, and Kelly Stewart and Tia Hemiller tacked on 17 apiece for the Coyotes.
