Power outages caused by wind Thursday night and early Friday led to the postponement of several high school events Friday.
The Jackson vs. Meadowdale, Everett vs. Monroe, Edmonds-Woodway vs. Sehome, LaConner at Archbishop Murphy and Orcas Island at Darrington boys and girls basketball games were postponed. And the Lakewood at South Whidbey boys game was postponed. Also, a double-dual boys swim meet, featuring Cascade and Moses Lake at Kamiak, was postponed.
The Jackson-Meadowdale and Everett-Monroe boys games were re-scheduled for Monday. The Monroe at Everett girls game was rescheduled for Dec. 29. The Lakewood-South Whidbey game was reset for January 16. No makeup dates were set for the other events as of Friday afternoon.
Meanwhile, icy roads in the Bellingham area prevented teams from leaving or reaching that region. All eight Northwest 3A League games scheduled for Friday were postponed.
