The junior pitcher threw a no-hitter and just missed a perfect game by walking a batter in the fifth inning of a 5-0 victory over Stanwood. She struck out 17 of 28 batters faced in a 2-0 loss to Kamiak.
Forsberg (3-3) posted her third shutout this season vs. Stanwood and ran her season total for strikeouts to 66 in 42 innings against Kamiak.
“She worked really hard in the off-season, going to camps and clinics,” Monroe coach Curt Eskeback said. “She’s really dedicated.”
Forsberg started for Monroe as a sophomore and can play outfield and second base.
“She’s an athlete,” Eskeback said. “She’s one of the fastest players on the team.”
Forsberg has good control and can hit the corners of the plate Eskeback said.
“Her ball gets on the hitter in a hurry,” Eskeback said. “Our offense just isn’t supporting her right now.”
