Prep Athletes of the Week — April 26 – May 2

The athletes of the week are selected by The Herald staff with input from local head coaches.

Jake Mulholland

Snohomish | Baseball

Mulholland improved his record to 7-0 this season with a win over Mount Vernon last Friday. Mulholland combined with Kody Kaysner to throw a four-hitter and he also batted 3-for-4. With the win, the Panthers remained unbeaten so far this season and locked up a Wesco 4A regular-season championship.

Dasia Lester

Lynnwood | Softball

Lester pitched a six-inning no hitter in a 14-0 victory over Shorewood last Wednesday. The win helped the Royals stay within striking distance of first-place Meadowdale in the Wesco 3A/2A South.

Keynan Foster

Jackson | Boys Track

The Jackson senior won the 100 meters with a time of 10.75 at the Shoreline Invitational on Saturday. Foster helped the Timberwolves to a second-place finish in the team scores.

Malia Pivec

Lynnwood | Girls Track

Pivec won the 1,500 at the Lake Washington Invite this past Saturday with a time of 4:36.78. Pivec helped the Royals finish tied for fourth in the team scores.

Gakushi Matsumoto

Stanwood | Boys Golf

Matsumoto shot a 2-over 74 last Thursday to earn medalist honors in a match against Oak Harbor, Arlington, Marysville Getchell, Marysville Pilchuck and Everett at Legion Memorial Golf Course. The Spartans also took first place in the team standings.

Hannah Roh

King’s | Girls Golf

Roh shot a 39 in modified stableford scoring on Wednesday to earn medalist honors in a match against Lakewood.

Myint-Zu Kyaw

Edmonds-Woodway | Girls Tennis

Kyaw went 3-0 last week, losing just four games in the process. Her week included a 6-0, 6-0 win over the No. 1 singles player from Shorecrest. The Warriors went 2-1 for the week.

Andy Zisette

South Whidbey | Boys Soccer

Zisette scores five goals and had three assists in victory over Sultan last Friday. The Falcons are in second place in the Cascade Conference behind Archbishop Murphy.

Ian Prieve

Shorecrest | Boys Lacrosse

Prieve scored nine goals and had two assists in a 19-18 loss to Meadowdale last Friday

Hannah Graves

Snohomish | Girls Lacrosse

Graves finished with four goals and one assist in a 13-8 loss to Roosevelt last Friday.
