MOUNT VERNON — Sam Triece pitched 61/3 innings of one-hit ball while striking out 10 batters to lead Meadowdale to the 3A District 1 playoff win. John Boon had an RBI single in the first inning and Sam Herzer added an RBI single in the seventh for the Mavericks. Mount Vernon starter Richard Dutton

pitched a complete game and struck out 12 batters.
