MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — Meadowdale’s Bill Sullivan pitched a four-hitter, striking out six and allowing no earned runs as the Mavericks defeated Mountlake Terrace 4-1 in a Wesco 3A baseball game on Wednesday afternoon.
Meadowdale’s Matt Hirsch hit three singles in four at-bats with two RBI and Riley Bykonen hit two singles and scored a run. Sam Herzer hit a double for the Mavericks.
Mountlake Terrace relief pitcher Jalen Pahinui replaced starter Josh Fitch in the fourth inning and allowed one run in four innings.
Fitch had one of the Hawks’ four hits, hitting a double.
Meadowdale improves to 2-2 in Wesco 3A and Mountlake Terrace falls to 1-2. The two teams play Friday at 4 p.m. at Meadowdale High School.
