MILL CREEK — The powerful Jackson lineup managed just a single run against Meadowdale’s Sam Triece, who handed the Timberwolves their first loss of the season in a nonleague contest. Triece allowed a single unearned run and a pair of hits — both by Jackson’s Jaris Beasley before being relieved by Tolin Dooldy, who pitched the sixth and seventh inning. The Mavericks did all their damage in the fifth inning, when they collected two infield hits, five walks and scored five runs. Matt Hirsch and Sam Herzer each collected an RBI by beating out singles in the inning. Jason Todd took the loss for Jackson before being lifted in the sixth.
