LYNNWOOD — Both teams registered six hits, but the Bruins (1-1 overall) walked nine times with just three strikeouts to win in five innings. Cascade second baseman Dean Davis drove six runs on two hits. Catcher Logan Crosson singled, doubled, walked and was hit by a pitch. Lynnwood senior Sergio Navarro went 2-for-3 with a double and run scored while junior Ryder Bowman had a hit, a walk and stole three bases in the Royals’ season-opener.

OAK HARBOR — Timberwolves pitcher Austin Halvorson struck out nine batters and walked none in six innings. Center fielder Ashton Bergman went 2-for-4 at the plate and then pitched a scoreless seventh as Jackson improved to 2-0 under first-year head coach Joe Fleury.
