Non-league

Lake Stevens 16, Marysville Pilchuck 0 (5)

LAKE STEVENS — The Vikings (1-0) recorded a combined perfect game to shut out the Tomahawks (0-1) in their season-opener. Manny McLaurin retired six hitters himself in two innings while the rest of the defense got involved the second, forcing two groundouts and a fly-out. The Lake Stevens offense was firing on all cylinders as well, as Aspen Alexander (1/1) stole four bases and scored twice while A’Alona Demartin (2/2) and Kellen Gadin (2/2) had a combined five RBI. No individual stats were reported for Marysville Pilchuck.

Jackson 10, Marysville Getchell 0 (5)

EVERETT — Jackson pitchers Drew Pepin (four IP) and Derek Sundstrom (one IP) combined to allow one hit and post eight strikeouts as Jackson (1-0) run-ruled Marysville Getchell (0-1). Ashton Bergman (2-3) scored two runs himself and stole a base while Lucas Poindexter and Sam Craig led Jackson with two RBI. The Chargers got their sole hit from Peyton Wallace in the first.

Shorewood 6, King’s 1

SHORELINE — Just as Knights third-baseman Luke Helton (1-2) scored on a wild pitch to chip at the 2-0 deficit in the top of the fourth, the Stormrays (1-0) scored three runs in the bottom of the frame to shut the door. Shorewood’s pitching staff looked sharp outside of the wild-pitch blunder, as Jameson Connolly and Aaron James combined to allow five hits with six strikeouts. Offensively, eight hits would prove more than enough for Shorewood, which stole three bases. Nate Bjella went 2-2 from the plate for King’s on a 5-23 day as a team.

Cedarcrest 2, Lakewood 1

ARLINGTON — Lakewood’s bats went cold in their opener (2-22) as two Cedarcrest runs in the fifth overwhelmed the Cougars (0-1). Left-fielder Tejay Hoiland would bring in Brayden McAllister home in the bottom of the sixth, but that would be the extent of Lakewood’s comeback attempt.

Chief Sealth 10, Sultan 2

SEATTLE — The Turks (0-1) trailed 5-0 after the first innings in a tough opening loss. Braydon Davis and Kaden Koehler each scored runs in the fourth for Sultan.
