SHORELINE — Shorecrest’s Ted Hammond (1-0) tossed three innings of scoreless relief with six strikeouts while giving up just a single hit. Hammond also batted 2-for-3 and scored three runs. Shorecrest trailed 6-2 until a four-run fifth inning tied the score. The Panthers had eight hits — three of them home runs — in the losing effort. Skylar Shibayama, Alex Pitts and Kevin Millet all recorded a single and a double for the Scots.
