STANWOOD — The Spartans scored four runs on five singles with two outs in the second inning and that was plenty for junior right-hander Connor Martin as Stanwood won the non-league game. Martin scattered five hits over 62/3 innings and was aided by a solid defensive effort. Freshman Tyler Givens went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored, Cannen Roberson had two RBI and Josh James went 2-for-3 for Stanwood (1-1). Collin Samuelson had two hits for Lynnwood (0-3).
