LANGLEY — In game one of a doubleheader, Aaron Curfman finished 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI and the Falcons rallied for four runs in the sixth inning to earn their first victory of the season. Jay Leverett had four hits, four RBI and two runs scored for Sultan.
Sultan bounced back in game two, winning in a shortened game to earn the split. Leverett struck out nine in five innings on the mound and drove in three at the plate, missing the cycle by a home run. The Turks’ Cody Ohlsen and Bryce MacDickenn each added two hits. Jack Lewis hit a solo home run to account for South Whidbey’s only run.
Leverett went 9-for-11 and earned two wins in three games against South Whidbey this week.
