PREP BASEBALL/SOFTBALL ROUNDUP: Sophomore pitcher puts Glacier Peak in 3A district baseball title game

MT. VERNON — Junior Varsity was a breeze for Glacier Peak sophomore pitcher Dylan Crame.

So he was challenged to pitch in a varsity game against rival Jackson.

Crame rose to the occasion with a six-inning, complete-game 11-1 win over Shorecrest Tuesday in a 3A District 1 semifinal playoff game at Sherman Anderson Field.

The win puts the Grizzlies in the title game against Meadowdale at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sherman Anderson Field.

“He was untouchable at the JV level,” GP head coach Bob Blair said. ““I told him before the game, if he threw strikes and didn’t walk or hit people, I would give him (something special) … But he did not take me up on it. Its a good thing for me.”

Crame pitched a five-hitter, giving up one run in the second and did what was asked of him — no walks and no hit batters.

GP’s Lance Foster was 3-for-4, Tanner May was 2-for-3 with three RBI and Dane Larsen had three RBI. Willie Harris had the only extra-base hit of the game, a solo home run in the third inning.
