LANGLEY — Coupeville’s Ian Smith banked in a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give Coupeville the Cascade Conference win, but South Whidbey still clinched a Class 2A District 1 playoff berth thanks to losses by Sultan and Lakewood. Smith scored 16 points and Hunter Hammer had 14 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks for Coupeville. Riley Newman scored 21 points and T.J. Rusell had 10 points and four steals for South Whidbey.
