Prep boys basketball: Fourth-quarter rally boosts Marysville-Pilchuck

SNOHOMISH — Marysville-Pilchuck exploded for 21 points in the final quarter to steal Friday’s Wesco North game away from Snohomish, winning 58-53 on the Panthers’ home court.

Marysville shot 14 free throws in the fourth quarter as well as obtained several offensive rebounds to help fight off Snohomish. Nick Soriano had 10 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter. Spencer Elwell added six of his 14 in the final period.

“They pretty much dominated it,” Snohomish coach Len Bone said of the fourth quarter

Bone said it wasn’t in the plan for his team to foul in the fourth quarter, yet it kept sending M-P back to the free-throw line.

“They deserved to win it, we made too many mistakes, and they were pretty solid in the fourth,” Bone said.

Snohomish was led by Brian Wolfe with 13 points.
