Prep boys basketball: Glacier Peak 58, Shorewood 49

SNOHOMISH — Glacier Peak added another victory to its strong start, defeating Shorewood in a Wesco 3A South game.

The Grizzlies improved to 4-0

“It was definitely a close game all the way,” Glacier Peak head coach Brian Hunter said. “In the fourth quarter we made a few more points than they did and limited their shots. We did a nice job on the boards.”

Hunter said his Glacier Peak team had 35 rebounds in the game, which was a factor in its victory,

“We definitely focus (in practice) on rebounding the ball,” Hunter said. “I think rebounding is a tremendously important factor in winning a game.”

Brady Southard (18 points) and Zach Hatch (15) were the two leading scorers for Glacier Peak, combining for 33 points and two 3-pointers.

“Hatch is our leading scorer right now,” Hunter said. “He’s averaging 15 or 16 (points) a game. They played solid, they played well.”

Jordan Muir-Keung paced Shorewood with 18 points.
