MOUNT VERNON — Luke Hamlin scored 31 points to lead Snohomish to a nonleague win over Mount Vernon in its season opener. Kevin Yates chipped in 20 points for the Panthers, who utilized a 22-13 second-quarter advantage to take a 40-34 halftime lead and pull away from the Bulldogs. Thor Vorpnford led Mount Vernon with 21 points and Kevin Hofstad added 18.
