Prep boys basketball: Sultan 82, Foster 71 (OT)

SULTAN — The Sultan boys basketball outscored Foster 15-4 in the overtime period to earn its first victory of the season with a 82-71 win in a nonconference matchup Monday night.

The Turks overcame a seven point fourth quarter deficit with clutch shooting from Ronnie Skorka, who knocked down three of his four 3-pointers in the quarter.

“It was fun to see their compsure even though we were down,” Sultan head coach Nate Trichler said. “To see them keep fighting and some clutch shooting it was great.”

Chris Walcott led the Turks with a team-high 29 points. The junior guard scored 13 points in the first half as the Turks took a one point lead into the break.

“He put so much time in the offseason working on his shoot he believes in it right now,” Trichler said. “In the first half he was our only option.”
