Prep boys basketball: Sumner 72, Kamiak 66

SAN DIEGO — Gavin Patrick scored 16 points to lead Kamiak in a semifinal at the Surf &Slam Holiday Tournament on Monday night, but Sumner went on a 21-9 run in the fourth quarter to wrest control of the game.

The Knights (5-3) led by two with 48 seconds left in the game, but Sumner made a 3-pointer and held off Kamiak for the win.

Kamiak will play Bentley (Calif.) at 3:15 Tuesday for third place in the tourney.
