SHORELINE — The Shorewood Thunderbirds boys soccer team found itself trailing during a game for the first time all season Monday night.
It’s not that surprising, seeing as how it was the first goal the Thunderbirds had allowed all year.
But Shorewood responded with four unanswered goals, to defeat Marysville Getchell 4-1 in a Wesco 3A game, and remain a perfect 13-0 on the year.
“It was our spring break, we didn’t have any practice over the weekend, and we came out flat,” said Shorewood head coach Nate Davis.
The Chargers’ Edger Escalante netted the first goal against Shorewood all season in the 28th minute, but Shorewood came charging back with three quick strikes before halftime. by Dodge Schaeffer, Abdul Abdulla and Owusu Fordjour.
Andreas Gobel netted the fourth goal for the Thunderbirds five minutes after the break.
