EDMONDS — Edmonds-Woodway running back Desmond Young rushed for 147 yards on eight carries and scored three touchdowns as the Warriors had little problem with the Royals in a Wesco 4A South game. Young limped off the field after his third touchdown and didn’t return. The senior running back missed three games this season after injuring it on another touchdown run just before halftime of its win over Mountlake Terrace on Sept. 7.
Warriors quarterback Davis Giles threw for two touchdowns, including a 41-yard screen pass to Junior Opoku-Mensah. Connor McCole and Chantz Justice also had touchdown runs for the Warriors, who kept alive its slim hopes for a 4A South title.
Lynnwood started a new quarterback, Justin Cachopo, who threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to former Royals quarterback Morgan Skelton late in the fourth quarter.
