Prep football: Lakewood 22, Blaine 20

MARYSVILLE — Donovan Evans caught two touchdowns, a 40-yard pass from Justin Peterson and a 20-yard from Kolby Schueller and the Cougars defense stopped Blaine’s two-point conversion attempt at the end of the game to win the non-league contest.

Blaine running back Mario Gobbato ran for two touchdowns, including a score from three yards out with no time on the clock at the end of the fourth quarter to pull the Borderites to within two. Gobbato carried the ball on the ensuing two-point try, but Lakewood stopped him just inches short of the goal line to escape with the win.
