LYNDEN — Kyle Hanson rushed for a game-high 104 yards and two touchdowns to lead Lynden to a 35-7 victory over Cedarcrest in the 2A crossover playoff match.
After a scoreless first period, Lynden found its stride in the ground game, scoring 28 unanswered points to pull away from the Red Wolves.
Hanson delivered his two scores at the end of the first half and late in the third quarter as his team pulled away to earn a berth in the 2A state tournament.
Lynden outgained Cedarcrest 369 to 283 in total yards and held the Red Wolves to just 70 yards rushing on 31 carries. Red Wolves quarterback Hunter Lee finished 17-of-33 passing for 199 yards and four interceptions.
The Red Wolves got on the scoreboard late when Martin Vakamoce scored on an 8-yard run.
