Prep football: Mount Vernon 52, Jackson 32

MOUNT VERNON — Mount Vernon raced out to a 38-7 halftime lead and cruised to a win over Jackson. The Bulldogs’ Brandon Hayman had 27 rushes for 215 yards and a touchdown and also threw a 41-yard TD pass to Melvin Walser. Mount Vernon quarterback Tristan Brock ran for TD, passed for two scores and also had a TD catch. Jackson’s Alex Cheesman was 22-for-33 for 196 yards and two TDs and Keynan Foster had 127 yards on 10 receptions and one touchdown.
