Glacier Peak 55, Jackson 0

SNOHOMISH — In a Wesco 4A game postponed from Thursday because of smoke, the Grizzlies raced out to a 49-0 halftime lead and cruised through the second half to defeat the Timberwolves.

Chrisvin Bonshe, Ryan King and River Lien each ran for two TDs for Glacier Peak (4-0 league, 7-1 overall). Bonshe netted a 151 yards on just four carries and King added 72 yards on five carries. Francis Çrocker and Roman Foster added rushing scores.

The victory sets the 4A top-ranked Grizzlies up for a de facto league title showdown with Lake Stevens, which has won 53 straight Wesco 4A games daring back to 2013, in Week 9.

Jackson fell to 0-4, 0-8.

Lake Stevens 56, Kamiak 10

EVERETT — Jayden Limar rushed 17 times for 239 yards and three touchdowns, and the Vikings set up a winner-takes-all game against Glacier Peak with their Wesco 4A victory over the Knights.

Kamiak hung close with Lake Stevens early as it was 14-10 in the second quarter. But Kolton Matson’s TD run on a quarterback keeper began a string of 42 unanswered points by the Vikings.

Cole Becker added a pair of touchdown receptions — one from Matson, one from Kaden LaPlaunt — while Cassidy Bolong-Banks and Esteban Sedano each added rushing TDs for Lake Stevens (3-0 league, 6-2 overall), which will face top-ranked Glacier Peak for the conference title next week.

Jullian Notoa paced Kamiak (1-2, 2-6) with 66 yards rushing, Zamari Mitchell scored a rushing TD and AJ Winsor connected on a 42-yard field goal.

WESCO 3A NORTH

Ferndale 28, Stanwood 7

STANWOOD — The Golden Eagles ended the Spartans’ bid for a perfect regular season, winning the Wesco 3A North championship with the victory in a turnover-laden game between league heavyweights.

Ferndale and Stanwood both came into the game undefeated in league play, making Friday’s game for all the marbles. The Golden Eagles raced out to a 20-0 first-quarter lead, and the Spartans’ vaunted wing-T offense was never able to get on track.

Isaiah Carlson scored two rushing touchdowns, while Zach Nielsen and Bishop Ootsey also ran for TDs for Ferndale (6-0 league, 6-2 overall), which will travel to face Wesco 3A South No. 1 Monroe in the Week 9 crossovers.

Carson Beckt scored the lone touchdown for Stanwood on a 52-yard screen pass from Michael Mascotti in the second quarter, which cut the deficit to 20-7. The Spartans (5-1, 7-1) will settle for the league’s No. 2 seed to the Wesco 3A crossover games, where they travel to Wesco 3A South No. 2 Snohomish.

Marysville Pilchuck 31, Mount Vernon 17

MOUNT VERNON — The Tomahawks pulled back to .500 with the victory in the Wesco 3A North contest against the Bulldogs.

Joseph Davis carried the load for Marysville Pilchuck, rushing 21 times for 175 yards and three touchdowns. Christian Van Natta had a sack and an interception on defense.

Marysville Pilchuck (3-3 league, 4-4 overall) was already locked into the No. 4 seed to the Week 9 crossovers and will play at Wesco 3A South No. 4 Mountlake Terrace. Mount Vernon fell to 0-6, 0-8.

Oak Harbor 36, Marysville Getchell 14

MARYSVILLE — The Wildcats nabbed Wesco 3A North’s fifth and final seed to the Week 9 crossovers with the victory over the Chargers. Oak Harbor improved to 2-4 in league and 2-6 overall and will travel to face Wesco 3A South No. 3 Edmonds-Woodway. Marysville Getchell fell to 1-5, 1-7.

Carter Schmidt ran for 100 yards and a TD and Arion Palacol connected with RJ Torres for a 6-yard TD pass to lead the Chargers.

WESCO 3A SOUTH

Edmonds-Woodway 33, Mountlake Terrace 13

EDMONDS — The Warriors clinched the No. 3 seed in Wesco 3A South with the victory over the Hawks.

Steven Warren Jr. returned from an injury and threw for 272 yards and three touchdowns, Liam Fitting carried the ball 20 times for 125 yards and a score, and Jesse Hart III caught two passes for 102 yards and two touchdowns for the Warriors.

Zaveon Jones led the Hawks with 176 yards and two TDs on 26 carries.

Edmonds-Woodway (4-2 league, 4-4 overall) will host Wesco 3A North No. 5 Oak Harbor in the Week 9 crossover round. Mountlake Terrace (3-3, 4-3) takes the No. 4 seed and will host Marysville Pilchuck in Week 9.

Shorewood 27, Shorecrest 7

SHORELINE — Rory Swanson ran for two touchdowns and passed for a third, leading the Stormrays over the crosstown-rival Scots in the Wesco 3A South game.

Swanson finished the game with 135 yards on 23 carries, and he also completed 3 of 4 passes for 57 yards, including a touchdown to Grant Harley in the second quarter that broke a 7-7 tie. Harley also ran for a score for Shorewood (3-3 league, 4-4 overall), which will host Cascade in a Week 9 crossover play-in game on Wednesday, with the winner traveling to Wesco 3A North No. 3 Arlington the following Saturday.

Shorecrest (0-6, 1-7) received a rushing TD from Jaylen Viars.

Monroe 49, Snohomish 7

SNOHOMISH — In a game for the Wesco 3A South title, the Bearcats won in convincing fashion against the Panthers.

Monroe (6-0 league, 8-0 overall) ran wild, as Beau Pruett rushed 15 times for 119 yards and three touchdowns, while Gavin Ranz added 133 yards on 10 carries and two scores. Quarterback Blake Springer was 13-for-20 for 162 yards and a touchdown to Trent Bublitz.

Monroe will host Wesco 3A North champ Ferndale in the Week 9 crossover round for Wesco supremacy.

Kale Hammer tossed a touchdown pass to Gavin Maynard for Snohomish (4-2, 4-4), which finished with the league’s No. 2 seed and will host Wesco 3A North No. 2 Stanwood in Week 9.

NON-LEAGUE

Cascade 30, Cedarcrest 0

EVERETT — In a game between undefeated teams playing independent schedules, the Bruins dominated the Red Wolves to earn a chance at the playoffs.

Eric Sowards threw touchdown passes to Devin Gilbert and Tyler Mazzeo, while Julian Thomas and Andi Cosme ran for scores, with Thomas’ going for 72 yards.

Thomas finished with 199 yards rushing on 20 carries and Zach Lopez added 173 yards on 17 carries for the powerful Bruins run game.

Gilbert also intercepted two passes for Cascade (8-0), which by going undefeated in the regular season earned a play-in game for the Wesco 3A Week 9 crossover games. The Bruins will hit the road to face Wesco 3A South No. 5 Shorewood on Wednesday.

Cedarcrest (7-1) was hoping to stay in the hunt for a Week 10 state play-in game against the Northwest 2A Conference’s No. 3 seed.

Arlington 35, Inglemoor 0

ARLINGTON — The Eagles systematically overcame the Vikings in the non-league contest. Arlington, which got three touchdowns by pass and two by run, improved to 6-2 and will be the Wesco 3A North’s No. 3 seed to the Week 9 crossover games. The Eagles will host the winner of Wednesday’s play-in game between Cascade and Shorewood. Inglemoor dropped to 2-5.

Everett 17, Meadowdale 0

EVERETT — The Seagulls received a huge defensive effort in the non-league victory over the Mavericks.

Ian Hendry had two interceptions and the Seagulls registered five sacks in posting the shutout to improve to 2-6. Offensively, Josh Smith rushed 32 times for 137 yards and scored both of Everett’s touchdowns, the second of which came in the fourth quarter to put the game away.

Meadowdale fell to 1-7.

Redmond 37, Lynnwood 0

EDMONDS — A week after earning their first win of the season, Lynnwood (1-7) fell to Class 4A Redmond (5-3) in a non-league game.

NORTHWEST CONFERENCE

Sedro-Woolley 48, Archbishop Murphy 0

SEDRO-WOOLLEY — The Wildcats remained winless following the Northwest Conference loss to the Cubs. Archbishop Murphy dropped to 0-6 in league, 0-7 overall, Sedro-Woolley improved to 4-2 and 6-2.

Jevin Madison led the Wildcats with 88 yards on 17 carries.

Lynden 48, Lakewood 3

LYNDEN — The Cougars were no match for the state’s top-ranked 2A team as they fell to the Lions in the Northwest Conference game. Lakewood dropped to 1-5 in league and 2-6 overall. Lynden improved to 6-0 and 8-0.

Dylan Kirkpatrick hit a 30-yard field goal to put the Cougars on the board in the fourth quarter.

King’s 56, Granite Falls 0

SHORELINE — The Knights raced out to a 49-0 halftime lead in the Emerald Sound Conference contest against the Tigers. King’s improved to 3-0 in league and 7-1 overall, Granite Falls fell to 0-3, 1-7.

South Whidbey 44, Sultan 0

LANGLEY — The Turks were shut out by the Falcons in the Emerald Sound Conference game. Sultan dropped to 2-2 in league and 4-4 overall. South Whidbey improved to 2-1, 7-1.

Julio Vargas had 26 yards receiving for the Turks.

DARRINGTON — Darrington fell to Crescent in a close non-league contest.

After starting the season with five straight wins, the Loggers (1-3, 5-3 league) have dropped three straight.
