Prep football: Stanwood 36, Everett 0

STANWOOD — Stanwood got its first Wesco 3A North football win and first shutout of the season 36-0 against Everett in sloppy conditions Friday night. Senior running back Brandon Ross had 28 carries for 258 yards and two touchdowns in the game.

Stanwood led 16-0 at the half, and early in the third quarter Ronnie Roth broke off a 90 yard punt return for a touchdown to give the Spartans a little more breathing room.

Brian O’Donnell had five catches for 37 yards and a touchdown and Nick Lewis had three carries for three yards and TD. Quarterback Drew Wright was 9-for-20 with one interception and one TD.
