Prep girls basketball: Arlington 57, Lake Stevens 42

ARLINGTON — Arlington took the lead late in the fourth quarter to beat Lake Stevens in a non-conference game Wednesday.

“This was a tight game. We really broke it open late,” Arlington head coach Joe Marsh said. “Our defensive pressure got to them late and we hit big buckets late.”

Those “big buckets” came from four 3-pointers in the fourth quarter. The Eagles as a team made nine from behind the arc.

“We shoot 3’s. Thats part of what we do,” Marsh said.

With the victory, Arlington improves its record to 4-0 overall.

“It’s a great start for us. We’re happy,” Marsh said. “This was a quality win tonight against a quality opponent. We’re just trying to keep getting better ervery night. When you play great teams it forces you to do that.”
