SHORELINE — Behind Kailyn Campbell’s nine points and 11 rebounds, Cedarcrest defeated King’s in a defensive Cascade Conference battle.
For the Red Wolves — a team that averages 57 points per game — Friday’s game was one that Cedarcrest head coach Brad Knowles knew that his team would have to focus on defense.
“Defense has been our big push all year,” said Knowles. “We are playing better defense this year. King’s is a tall, fast and quick team. This was a real scrappy game.”
That defensive scrappiness held the Knights to their second-lowest scoring total of the season, with no King’s players scoring in double-digits.
Assisting Campbell in the Cedarcrest victory offensively were Sarah Stauffer’s nine points and Susan Keeney’s seven points.
