LAKE STEVENS — Lake Stevens trailed by seven points with just under two minutes remaining, but it was able to force some turnovers and get some buckets down the stretch to get back in the game and eventually beat Marysville-Pilchuck 55-50 in overtime in a Wesco North game Monday at the Lake Stevens High gym.
“To break the door down a little bit and get a win against a team like Marysville is good for our team,” Lake Stevens coach Randall Edens said.
M-P’s Andi Adams was fouled with two seconds to go, she knocked down one of two free throws to send the game into overtime.
Meghan Warbis had 17 points for Lake Stevens, Stephanie Schumacher added 15. Warbis also had eight rebounds.
“We got a lot of contibutions from a lot of different kids,” Edens said.
“We were able to prevail,” Edens said. “It’s just a huge win for our kids.
Britt Harris led M-P with 20 points.
