Prep girls basketball: Meadowdale wins with clutch defense

SNOHOMISH — Meadowdale survived two last-minute Glacier Peak opportunities to hang onto a 45-42 Wesco South girls basketball win Friday.

Glacier Peak had consecutive inbound plays with less than 20 seconds remaining. But Meadowdale got defensive stops on each and converted two free throws to seal the win.

Michaela O’Neill had a team-high 12 points for the Mavericks.

Marjorie Heard had 17 points and 18 rebounds for Glacier Peak.
