OAK HARBOR — Behind Rachel Swartz’s 14 points and seven rebounds, Stanwood defeated Oak Harbor 58-32 on Friday night to clinch a Wesco 3A North title.
Adding to Swartz’s scoring output was Tristan Murphy’s 12 points and four rebounds.
“We were very fortunate tonight,” said Spartans head coach Dennis Kloke. “We played all nine players. I can’t really single any girls out. We’re the type of team that isn’t going to have a player score 20 every night. (Tristan) Murphy, Rachel (Swartz) and (Jillian) Jacobs have more points than the other kids (this season) because of the situation of the game. We tend to take advantage of our posts.”
The top performer for the Wildcats was Annie Leete, who finished with 17 points and three 3-pointers in the loss.
