EVERETT — Jackson defeated Arlington in a Wesco 4A match behind two goals from Cara Wegner and a shutout performance from keeper Whitney Carter. Jackson Head Coach Mike Bartley described the goals as similar. They were both diagonal through balls. The first Wegner placed straight past the keeper on a breakaway. “The second was a diagonal ball over the top of the defense. It bounced once and she broke on it, headed it forward, then got control and put it in the corner.” Both goals came late in the game: the first on an assist from Tia Carrillo, the second from Krista King. Jackson moved to 7-1-1 league, 8-2-1 overall, while Arlington fell to 2-7 3-7.
