LAKE STEVENS — Hannah Huesers scored twice for Lake Stevens, including a game-winning goal to open the second overtime period, in a 2-1 4A District 1 playoff victory over Kamiak Saturday at Lake Stevens H.S.
Lake Stevens took the second overtime kickoff and Breonna Countryman launched a long through ball to Huesers, who flipped the ball over Kamiak goalie Emma Makela and then got behind her to kick the ball into the goal.
The Vikings (13-4) advanced to a 7 p.m. Tuesday semifinal against Jackson at Everett Memorial Stadium.
Kamiak (8-8-1) was eliminated.
Lake Stevens almost won the game in regulation on Huesers 55th-minute goal, which was assisted by Dani Walsh. But the Vikings were guilty of a hand ball in the box in the 79th minute and Paige Littrell converted the penalty kick to send the game into overtime.
Kiaya Paulsen was in goal for the Vikings.
