EDMONDS — Mountlake Terrace scored on a free kick from just outside the penalty box in the 55th minute, and then withstood a late flurry from Meadowdale to hold on for a 2-1 victory in a 3A District 1 Tournament match on Tuesday night.
Mountlake Terrace will play at Arlington in an elimination match on Thursday at 7 p.m.
Meadowdale coach Terry Ryan said his team hit the post twice in the last 20 minutes of action, and sent a point-blank shot directly at the Mountlake Terrace goalkeeper Alexis McRae.
“I had to play 10 freshmen tonight because of injuries, but we will be stronger next year,” Ryan said. “Mountlake Terrace is a good team and will do quite well in the playoffs.”
