SULTAN — Seattle Academy scored two goals in its shutout victory over King’s in a Bi-District 1A girls soccer tournament match.
The match determined seeding for the state championship tournament. Seattle Academy won the championship and King’s took second.
“(Seattle Academy are) always a tough team to face,” King’s head coach Nicole Gabelein said. “They’re very strong in their defense. They’ve got a great attack.”
The first goal for Seattle Academy was in the first half — a rocket from Megan Barwick from 27 yards that hit the top corner of the goal. The second was on a Lexi Leff breakaway that hit the side of the net in the second half.
King’s plays Montesano in the first round of state.
“We’re looking forward to facing them,” Gabelein said. “They’ve had a good season so far and they’re a strong team.”
