Prep girls soccer: Stanwood 3, Monroe 2, OT

MONROE — Stanwood’s Lauren Allison scored the game-winning goal in the eighth minute of overtime to edge Monroe (5-9 league, 6-9 overall). Lawrence corralled a rebound off of Bearcats’ keeper Sydney Day and deposited it into the back of the net to help the Spartans pull off the come-from-behind win. Monroe got on the board first in the seventh minute on a goal from Miranda Hall. Stanwood (3-11, 3-12) answered in the 11th minute with a Lauren Allison goal only to see the Bearcats regain the lead in the 55th minute thanks to Chantelle Westover. Her team still trailing 2-1, Stanwood’s Kamalie Loera provided the game-tying goal in the 74th minute. Her shot from 40 yards out slid past the outstretched arms of Day into the upper corner of Monroe net.
