Prep hot tickets: May 15-19

Here are six prep sports events to keep an eye on this week.

With district and state tournaments in full swing, here are a few of the many prep events to follow during this action-packed week:

Boys soccer: 4A state tournament, Olympia at Glacier Peak, 6 p.m. Tuesday. The Grizzlies play host to Olympia in the opening round of the state tournament. With a victory, Glacier Peak advances to the state quarterfinals for the fourth consecutive year.

Boys soccer: 3A state tournament, Mount Tahoma at Snohomish, 7 p.m. Tuesday. Making their 19th state appearance in 20 seasons, the Panthers play host to Mount Tahoma in the opening round of the state tournament. Snohomish is unbeaten in its past 13 matches.

Softball: 4A Northwest District title game, 6 p.m. Thursday at Phil Johnson Ballfields. The winner earns a state berth, while the loser plays Friday in a winner-to-state, loser-out game. The title game could potentially feature the third matchup this season between Lake Stevens and Jackson. The two powerhouses shared the Wesco 4A crown after splitting a pair of epic pitchers’ duels during the regular season.

Track and field: 4A and 3A Northwest District championships, 3 p.m. Wednesday and Friday at Shoreline Stadium. The area’s top 4A and 3A track and field athletes compete for spots in next weekend’s state meet.

Baseball: 3A state regional, Saturday at Sherman Anderson Field (Mount Vernon). Arlington faces Eastside Catholic at 10 a.m., followed by Marysville Pilchuck against Bonney Lake at 1 p.m. The winners then square off later in the afternoon for a spot in the state semifinals. Marysville Pilchuck is riding an 11-game win streak and Arlington has won 21 of its past 22 games.

Baseball: 4A state regional, Jackson vs. South Kitsap, 10 a.m. at Everett Memorial Stadium. After winning the 4A Northwest District title with a combined no-hitter, the Timberwolves open the state tournament against South Kitsap. The winner faces either Skyview or Inglemoor later in the afternoon for a spot in the state semifinals.
