Jackson High School has named Terry Ryan as its new girls soccer coach, according to a press release from the school.
Ryan has more than two decades of coaching experience in high school and club soccer. He was named the KingCo 3A/2A coach of the year in 2013 while he was the head coach at Mercer Island.
Ryan replaces Sarah Smart, who coached the Timberwolves for the past four seasons. During her time at the helm, Smart guided Jackson to three Wesco 4A titles and three Class 4A state tournament appearances.
Jackson went 12-5-2 this past fall, finishing third in Wesco 4A and falling one win short of a state berth.
Smart remains the Jackson boys soccer head coach. In her first season as the boys coach last spring, she guided the Timberwolves to a program-best third-place state trophy and was named The Herald’s boys soccer coach of the year.
