Mariner 84, Marysville Getchell 52

EVERETT — Five different Marauders reached double digits as Mariner cruised to a non-league victory over the Chargers in the season opener of both squads.

Jalin Johnson hit four 3-pointers and scored 11 of his game-high 18 points in the second quarter. Tijan Saine netted all 17 of his points in the first three periods as the Marauders (1-0) build a 63-36 lead.

Kenny Thompson added 13 points, Dakota Joseph 12 and Naser Motley 10.

Ryan Allison led the Marysville Getchell (0-1) with 15 points and Arion Palacol added 14.

Lakeside (Seattle) 69, Shorewood 59

SHORELINE — Ethan Farley scored a team-best 18 points as the Thunderbirds lost their season opener.

Jaden Messer added 16 points and Rahmatullah Salim 14 for Shorewood (0-1).

Kamal Muhammad led Lakeside (Seattle) with 18 points. Manav Bhata chipped in 16 and Sebastian David 15.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Non-league

Lake Stevens 75, King’s 36

LAKE STEVENS — Camille Jentzsch’ 19 points led a trio of Vikings in double figures in a victory over Class 1A power King’s.

Baylor Thomas added 14 points and Chloe Pattison 10 for Lake Stevens (1-0). The Vikings outscored King’s 24-2 in the final quarter.

Catherine Elland paced the Knights (0-1) with 12 points.

Issaquah 66, Meadowdale 34

ISSAQUAH — Gia Powell scored a team-high 17 points, including a trio of 3-pointers, but Meadowdale fell to Issaquah in a non-league game in the season opener for both schools.

Jordan Leith added six points for Meadowdale (0-1).
