LYNNWOOD — Paige Gessey had 12 kills, eight digs and three aces, and Sammy Holmer added 11 kills, 15 digs and two aces to help lead Lynnwood to a 25-18, 25-14, 25-11 sweep in both teams’ league opener.

Hannah Johnson had nine kills, four blocks, four aces and six digs, and Charlie Thomas added 34 assists and two aces for Lynnwood (2-0, 1-0 Wesco 3A/2A).

Shorewood fell to 2-1 overall and 0-1 in league.

Archbishop Murphy 3, Cascade 0

EVERETT — Tatum Gill had five kills, six digs and eight aces, and Ashley Fletcher added five kills and six aces as Archbishop Murphy won the league game 25-14, 25-19. 25-19.

Laura Esping had 14 assists and two aces, and Lauren Fogliani chipped in 15 digs and two aces for Archbishop Murphy (2-1, 2-0 Wesco 3A/2A).

Suleyka Uriostegui had two kills, seven assists and four aces, Kiana Volkmann added three aces and seven digs, and Leila Soriano had five digs for Cascade.

Meadowdale 3, Monroe 1

LYNNWOOD — Ja’elle Jenkins had 17 kills, seven digs and five aces, and Mia Johns added 11 kills, two digs and one block to help lead Meadowdale to a 25-21, 22-25, 25-19, 25-14 league win.

Violet Dubois had 10 kills, three digs and one block, and Laiken Thoesen chipped in 26 assists, three kills and seven digs for Meadowdale (1-1, 1-0 Wesco 3A/2A).

Karisa Martin had eight kills and four blocks, Sawyer Mahler had 10 kills, Shannara Peebles added seven aces and Maddie Walker contributed nine assists for Monroe.

Shorecrest 3, Stanwood 1

SHORELINE — Lily Starr had eight kills and four blocks, and Violey Burchak had six kills, 20 assists and two blocks to lead Shorecrest to a 23-25, 25-20, 26-24, 25-22 win in the league opener for both teams.

Ally Johnson had nine kills and Lexi Paule added 16 digs for Shorecrest (3-0, 1-0 Wesco 3A/2A).

Stanwood fell to 0-2 overall.

The match was the first of the season for Granite Falls.

Claire Wright had 20 kills, three blocks, eight digs and four aces, Allie Cochran added three kills, 16 digs and nine aces, and Abigail Cochran had five blocks and five kills for Darrington (2-1).
