MILL CREEK — Kale Hammer struck out five over four shutout innings and Nickolas Sakamoto and Bradin Craig each went 2-for-3 with an RBI as Snohomish opened its season with a non-league win over Jackson.

Baylor Hill tripled and scored a run during a 1-for-4 day at the plate, Craig stole two bases and Brendan McKinley picked up the save with two strikeouts over 2.1 innings clean innings. The Panthers (1-0) allowed just two hits.

Ryan Nakijima went 1-for-3 with an RBI and Carson Burns pitched two scoreless innings of relief with three strikeouts for the Timberwolves (0-1).
