EDMONDS — In a matchup of two starting pitchers committed to Division-I colleges, Jackson and Dominic Hellman slipped past Edmonds-Woodway and Gibby Marshall-Inman in a hard-fought game on Saturday.

Hellman, an Oregon commit, allowed two earned runs and struck out six in five innings for the Timberwolves.

Marshall-Inman, a Seattle U commit, allowed one earned run and struck out five in six innings for the Warriors.

Both pitchers finished with no-decisions after leaving the game in a 2-2 tie.

Jackson pushed across the winning run in the top of the 7th after Benny Sandico walked, stole second base and then scored on a double by Ryan Contreras.

Contreras finished 2-for-4 with two doubles Zach Ediger earned the win with two scoreless innings in relief for Jackson (10-0).

Jacob Gabler and two hits and Drew Warner drove in two runs for Edmonds-Woodway (8-3).
