BASEBALL

Snohomish 11, Glacier Peak 1

SNOHOMISH — Davis Buckner struck out 14 batters, allowed just two hits over 5.1 innings and drove in two runs at the plate as Snohomish cruised to a win over crosstown-rival Glacier Peak.

Dylan Schwartzmiller homered, doubled and had three RBI, and Hayden Holobaugh also drove in two runs for Snohomish (5-4).

Ashton Olson had a hit, a walk and a stolen base for Glacier Peak (7-3).

Meadowdale 11, Shorecrest 5

LYNNWOOD — Brody Bluhm went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI, and Brandon Brunette had a triple and three runs batted in as Meadowdale earned a league win over Shorecrest.

Meadowdale (5-4) raced out of the gates with seven runs in the first inning and rolled from there.

Jake Lockwood went 3-for-3 with and RBI for Shorecrest (3-7).

Everett 7, Archbishop Murphy 1

EVERETT — Corban Wietenhagen scattered two hits and struck out seven in six innings as Everett earned a win over Archbishop Murphy.

Alex Sesso went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI to lead the Everett (5-4) offense.

Archbishop Murphy fell to 1-8.

Monroe 9, Lakewood 0

ARLINGTON — Todd Chatterton went 2-for-4 with two RBI, and Nate Cain tripled and scored twice to lead Monroe to a win over Lakewood.

Skyler Lynch, Colin Martin and Connor Campbell combined to strike out 11 and allowed just three hits in the shutout for Monroe (8-1)

Lakewood fell to 1-8 on the season.

Jackson 10, Kamiak 8

MILL CREEK — Anthony Kodama went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBI and two runs scored as Jackson held off a late comeback attempt to stay unbeaten with victory over Kamiak.

Evan Canfield tossed five scoreless innings and struck out 10 batters while allowing two walks and one hit for the Timberwolves (9-0).

Kamiak (5-4) scored three runs in the sixth inning and five in the seventh but fell just short in its comeback effort.

Cascade 4, Lynnwood 3

EVERETT — Chase Halvorson allowed one earned run, six hits and struck eight to pick up the victory on the mound as Cascade edged Kamiak.

Zach Lopez stole two bases and went 1-for-2 with an RBI and Hunter Smith drove in and went 1-for-3 with a stolen base for the Bruins (2-7).

Eli Stephenson went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI and Jace Hampson went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored for Lynnwood (5-4).

MILL CREEK — Freshman standout Yanina Sherwood struck out 15, allowed just two hits over seven innings and doubled at the plate as Jackson blanked Marysville Pilchuck in a big matchup of two undefeated Wesco teams.

Kalia Zellmer went 2-for-4 with a home run, and Amanda Winiger and Leneyah Mitchell each had a triple for Jackson, which won the 4A state title in 2018 and 2019.

Marysville Pilchuck (8-1) entered the game having won eight straight with an average of over 11 runs per game, but couldn’t get anything going on offense against the Timberwolves’ star pitcher.

Glacier Peak 2, Cascade 0

SNOHOMISH — Glacier Peak senior Makayla Miller hit a walk-off home run and struck out 12 in the circle as the Grizzles pulled out a win over Cascade on Senior Night.

Miller also singled and doubled and had three of the four hits in the game for Glacier Peak (7-2). Laila Carpenter had a double for the Grizzlies.

Alexa Hamshaw struck out four in a gritty complete-game performance for Cascade (1-8).
