BOYS BASKETBALL

Wesco 4A

Lake Stevens 65, Glacier Peak 61, OT

SNOHOMISH — Maddox Preder scored 22 points and Lake Stevens held on in overtime to beat Class 4A eighth-ranked Glacier Peak for its second straight Wesco 4A win.

Kye Taylor chipped in 15 points and Grayson Murren had 13 for the Vikings (8-9, 2-4 league). After coming into the week winless in league play, Lake Stevens moved into a tie for third place with Jackson in Wesco 4A.

Bobby Siebers poured in a game-high 26 points, including 20 in the second half and overtime, and Torey Watkins added 15 points for the Grizzlies (10-4, 4-2).

Mariner 65, Jackson 53

MILL CREEK — Naser Motley scored a game-high 23 points, Dakota Joseph added 20 and Mariner remained unbeaten in Wesco 4A play with a victory over Jackson.

Tijan Saine chipped in 11 points and Mohamad Camara had nine for the Marauders (12-6, 6-0 league), who can clinch thier first league title in boys basketball since 2003 with a win in either of their next two games.

Drilon Veliu scored 14 points and Bradley Tharp and Sylas Williams added 10 apiece for the Timberwolves (11-5, 2-4).

Wesco 3A/2A

Arlington 59, Archbishop Murphy 44

ARLINGTON — Grayson Falk scored 11 of his game-high 18 points in the first quarter and Arlington clinched the Wesco 3A/2A title with a win over Archbishop Murphy and Stanwood’s loss to Cedarcrest.

Luke Brown chipped in 14 points and Ethan Martin had 11 for the Eagles (13-4, 11-1 league), who are league champs for the first time since winning back-to-back Wesco 4A North titles in the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons.

Cade Galbraith netted 11 points and Luck Blachly and Trey Sumpter each added 10 for the Wildcats (6-10, 5-7).

Cedarcrest 69, Stanwood 68

STANWOOD — Jack Leblanc made the front end of two free-throw attempts with 1.4 seconds left and Cedarcrest held on for a comeback win over Stanwood in Wesco 3A/2A play.

Leblanc made 12 of his 13 shots from the line, including 9-of-10 in the fourth quarter, on his way to a game-high 23 points and the Red Wolves (6-9, 4-8 league) erased a 39-29 halftime deficit to earn their second straight win.

Mack Hepper tied the game at 68 after a putback but couldn’t convert a three-point play for the lead. Hepper led the Spartans (11-6, 9-3) with 21 points, John Floyd added 15 and Brandt Gilbertson 11.

Cooper Ayers scored 15 points and four assists, Jacob Del Degan had 13 points and four assists and Isaiah Del Degan chipped in 12 points for Cedarcrest.

Cascade 44, Monroe 39

EVERETT — Devin Gilbert scored a game-high 19 points and Cascade rallied in the fourth quarter for a comeback Wesco 3A/2A win over Monroe.

Gilbert scored seven of his points in the final period as the Bruins (7-8, 7-6 league) erased a four-point deficit. Andrew Cisneros added seven points for Cascade, which has won four of its past five games.

Reid Schaeffer led the Bearcats (4-10, 4-8) with 15 points and Kody Edelbrock chipped in seven.

Marysville Getchell 79, Meadowdale 58

MARYSVILLE — Bubba Palacol poured in 25 points and added six steals as Marysville Getchell pulled away in the second half for a Wesco 3A/2A victory over Meadowdale.

Ryan Allison had 13 points and eight rebounds and Zach Rice and Jordan Swanson added 11 points apiece for the Chargers (6-11, 6-7 league).

Aiden Bloomquist posted 18 points and nine rebounds and Naod Alemu chipped in 10 points for the Mavericks (1-13, 1-10).

Marysville Pilchuck 67, Edmonds-Woodway 62

EDMONDS — Jamaari Jefferson led three Marysville Pilchuck players in double figures with 21 points and the Tomahawks outlasted Edmonds-Woodway in a Wesco 3A/2A matchup.

Tommy Nguyen added 15 points and Anthony Najera 13 as eight different Tomahawks (7-6, 7-4 league) scored.

Adonai Daniel scored a game-high 24 points, Jacob Gabler added 12 and Gibby Marshal-Inman had 10 for the Warriors (8-9, 7-6).

Mountlake Terrace 58, Lynnwood 37

Northwest Conference

Lynden 61, Lakewood 51

LYNDEN — Blake Conyers scored a team-high 20 points and Lakewood led for most of the first three quarters but couldn’t hold on in a Northwest Conference clash with Class 2A second-ranked Lynden.

The Cougars (10-5, 7-1 league) opened up a 28-15 lead in the second quarter, but Lynden stormed back to take a 39-38 lead with 20 seconds left in the third.

Lakewood tied it at 45 with 4:50 left but the Lions pulled away.

Justie Taylor added 14 points for Lakewood.

Anthony Canales had a game-high 21 points, including 14 in the fourth, to pace the Lions (15-2, 10-2).

Emerald Sound Conference

Coho Division

Summit Sierra 72, Granite Falls 71

GRANITE FALLS — Summit Sierra converted a three-point play with 3.4 seconds left and Granite Falls couldn’t get a 3-pointer to fall at the buzzer as the Tigers fell in an Emerald Sound Conference Coho Division contest.

Gavin Tolland poured in a game-high 27 points, including four 3-pointers, Hayden Goldsmith added 13 points on 6 of 6 shooting and Johnny Roberts chipped in 10 points for Granite Falls (2-12, 1-0 league).

Eli Simmons scored 25 points and Donovan May added 21 for Summit Sierra (2-9, 2-7).

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Wesco 4A

Kamiak 70, Mariner 53

MUKILTEO — Nayella George scored 17 points and Bella Hasan added 16 as Kamiak defeated Mariner in a Wesco 4A play.

Lauren Pethick added 10 points for the Knights (9-7, 5-1 league).

Kyairra Roussin led the Marauders (8-5) with a game-high 20 points and Angela Rodriguez-Frias chipped in 14 points.

Lake Stevens 64, Glacier Peak 45

SNOHOMISH — Baylor Thomas led all scorers with 20 points and Class 4A fifth-ranked Lake Stevens stayed unbeaten in Wesco 4A play with a victory over Glacier Peak.

Camille Jentzsch added 14 points, Cori Wilcox 12 and Chloe Pattison nine for the Vikings (15-2, 6-0 league).

Brynna Pukis hit four 3-pointers and scored all of her team-high 12 points in the first half, Kylani Rookstool added 11 points and Hailey Stevenson nine for the Grizzlies (5-11, 2-4).

Wesco 3A/2A

Arlington 63, Archbishop Murphy 51

ARLINGTON — Jenna Villa made 15 of 16 free-throw attempts on her way to a game-high 32 points and Class 3A third-ranked Arlington pulled away from Archbishop Murphy to finish unbeaten in Wesco 3A/2A play.

Keira Marsh added 19 points for the Eagles (13-2, 10-0 league).

Ava Marr scored 16 points and Taylor Reed added 14 to pace the Wildcats (9-6, 5-3).

Non-league

Monroe 52, Cascade 45

EVERETT — Adria Lincoln led a balanced effort with 15 points and Monroe topped Cascade in a non-league game.

Brooke Boroughs chipped in 10 points and Eden Moore and Reese Bingham each added nine for the Bearcats (3-12).

Claire Mitchell had a game-high 16 points, Darshay Grace added 10 and Abby Surowiec nine for the Bruins (2-12).

Meadowdale 67, Marysville Getchell 32

LYNNWOOD — Jordan Leith scored 14 points and 11 different Meadowdale players scored as the Mavericks cruised to a non-league win over Marysville Getchell.

Ava Powell added 11 points and Jenaly Gabriel had eight for Meadowdale (9-7).

Hayden Robinson netted 12 points and Ellie Jackson had nine for the Chargers (6-9).

Northwest Conference

Meridian 66, Lakewood 22

Emerald Sound Conference
