VOLLEYBALL

WESCO 2A/3A

Arlington 3, Cascade 0

ARLINGTON — Emily Mekelburg had three aces, 11 kills and two digs as Arlington swept Cascade by scores of 25-5, 25-9 and 25-8 to clinch the Wesco 2A/3A regular-season championship.

Taylor Pederson had two aces, four kills, 19 assists and two digs, Malia Shepherd had eight aces, eight kills and seven digs and Makenzie Caple added two aces, one kill and three digs for the Eagles.

Arlington (15-2, 14-1 Wesco 2A/3A), ranked fourth in Class 3A in the most recent Washington State Volleyball Coaches Association poll, will be the top seed in the opening round of the 3A District 1 Tournament beginning on Tuesday.

Cascade finished its season with a 2-14 record overall and 2-13 in league play.

Everett 3, Stanwood 1

EVERETT — Lillian Thompson had 19 kills and eight blocks and Caroline Jameson added nine kills, seven aces and two blocks in Everett’s 25-18, 25-16, 20-25, 25-12 league win over Stanwood to close the regular season.

Peyton Lust had four aces and six digs, and Genevieve Wilkinson added two aces and 15 digs for Everett (11-5, 9-5 Wesco 2A/3A), which will next see action in a 3A District 1 Tournament play-in game on Tuesday.

Despite the loss, Stanwood (13-3, 12-3) finished as one of the top-four teams in the league and earned a berth into the opening round of the 3A District 1 Tournament. The Spartans will host a playoff game against a play-in winner on Tuesday.

Monroe 3, Marysville Pilchuck 0

MARYSVILLE — River Mahler had nine kills and 18 digs as Monroe closed its regular season with a 25-20, 25-12, 25-14 league win over Marysville Pilchuck.

Claire Brennan added seven digs for Monroe (7-9, 7-8 Wesco 2A/3A), which will next see action in a 3A District 1 Tournament play-in game on Tuesday.

Jacynta Myles-Gilford had five blocks and three kills, Carly Scallan added five kills, one ace and one block, and Juliana Kilroy had 14 digs in the season finale for Marysville Pilchuck (3-13, 3-12).

Archbishop Murphy 3, Lynnwood 1

BOTHELL — Madison Nguyen had 26 kills and 16 digs, and Megan McReynolds added 33 digs and two aces as Archbishop Murphy closed its regular season with a 25-22, 23-25, 25-22, 30-28 league win over Lynnwood on Tuesday.

Alishia Nichold had 38 assists, 12 digs, two aces, three kills and two blocks for Archbishop Murphy (13-4, 12-3 Wesco 2A/3A), which will next host a game in the 2A District 1 Tournament on Saturday.

Hannah Johnson had 13 kills and five blocks, Paige Gessey had 10 kills, 18 digs and three blocks, Sarah McArthur added eight kills and 18 digs, and Teya Abiador had 16 digs and two aces for Lynnwood (9-8, 7-8), which will next see action in a 3A District 1 Tournament play-in game on Tuesday.

Mountlake Terrace 3, Cedarcrest 0

DUVALL — Carly Epp had nine kills, four digs and 12 assists, and Kayla Bentosino added 12 digs as Mountlake Terrace swept Cedarcrest by scores of 26-24, 25-15 and 25-14 to close the regular season.

Jessie Tong had six kills and two blocks, Maya Faulkner had six kills and four digs, Lexi Dresher added two kills, six digs and two aces, and Isabelle Allred had three kills and four blocks for Mountlake Terrace (7-10, 7-8 Wesco 2A/3A), which will next see action in a 3A District 1 Tournament play-in game on Tuesday.

Risha Shaikh had five kills, one ace, 12 assists and nine digs, Bella Rose had four kills and six digs, Jesse Teakell added two kills, one ace and four digs, and Elyse Darrington had four kills, two aces and three digs for Cedarcrest, which finished its season with a 0-15 record overall and in league play.

Snohomish 3, Marysville Getchell 0

SNOHOMISH — Katie Stern had eight kills, 13 assists, 11 digs and four aces, and Anneke Hanson added 10 kills, six aces, 11 digs and one block as Snohomish swept Marysville Getchell 25-16, 25-13, 25-10 in the regular-season finale for both teams.

Mia Toroni had eight kills and five digs, and Kelsey Nichols added four kills, one ace and five digs for Snohomish (14-2, 13-2 Wesco 2A/3A), which clinched the second seed in the 3A District 1 Tournament.

Kerragyn Heacock had four kills and six digs, Emma Michal had nine digs and Dylynn Deschaine added two kills and five digs for Marysville Getchell, which finished its season with a 3-13 overall record and 2-12 in league play.

Shorecrest 3, Meadowdale 0

SHORELINE — Anna Knyphausen had 11 kills and six blocks, and Ally Johnson added six kills and 16 digs as Shorecrest swept Meadowdale 25-14, 25-16, 25-22 in the regular-season finale for both teams.

Violet Burchak added 19 assists, nine digs and five aces for Shorecrest (13-6, 11-4 Wesco 2A/3A).

Steph Grimes had five digs and four aces, and Tanna Killeen added five kills and two blocks for Meadowdale (10-7, 9-6).

Both teams will next see action in 3A District 1 Tournament play-in games on Tuesday.
