STANWOOD — Snohomish’s boys basketball team had a great first quarter.

Thanks to that, Stanwood missed out on a chance to grab a share of the Wesco North championship.

Senior forward Bryan Wolfe scored 19 points, Reed Pecha added 15 points while hitting four 3-pointers, and Snohomish took a Wesco North victory on the road, beating Stanwood 67-60.

Stanwood (13-3 league, 15-5 overall) would have tied Lake Stevens for the Wesco North title with a victory. Thanks to a tie-breaker, Lake Stevens was guarenteed to receive the Wesco North’s No. 1 district seed regardless of what Stanwood did Wednesday because it had a better record against Marysville-Pilchuck High School.

Stanwood will host Jackson High School in a district playoff game on Tuesday.

Snohomish (9-7, 11-9) will be the Wesco North’s No. 5 seed.
