BASEBALL

Wesco 3A/2A South

Meadowdale 14, Cedarcrest 0 (5)

DUVALL — Nic Zardis struck out four in five-inning shutout and Broderick Bluhm tripled and drove in three runs as the Mavericks blasted the Red Wolves in a league game.

Zardis, Bluhm, Malikhi Emery-Henderson, Jacob Armstrong-George and Isaiah Kepoo-Sebate all collected two hits for Meadwdale (8-8 overall, 4-5 Wesco South), which had 12 as a team. Emery-Henderson doubled and drove in two and Kepoo-Sebate tripled and drove in two.

Jake Polacek doubled and had two hits for Cedarcrest (3-10, 2-7).

Shorewood 5, Cascade 0

SHORELINE — Jacob Lindberg and Connor Olsen combined on a shutout and the Stormrays beat the Bruins in a league contest.

Lindberg allowed only one hit and struck out six over five innings and Jameson Connolly went 2-for-3 for Shorewood (10-5 overall, 7-2 Wesco South), which scored four runs in the fourth inning.

Dean Davis had a hit for Cascade (2-11, 1-7).

Lynnwood 10, Mountlake Terrace 5

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — The Royals took advantage of four errors by the Hawks and earned a league win.

Lynnwood improved to 5-9 overall and 3-4 in Wesco South play.

Rominic Quiban had two hits and scored twice and Talan Zenk had two RBI for Mountlake Terrace (7-8, 4-4).

Edmonds-Woodway 3, Shorecrest 2

EDMONDS — Diego Escandon hit a walk-off double as Edmonds-Woodway rallied for two runs on the bottom of the sevnenth inning to rally past Shorecrest for a thrilling league win on Saturday.

Trailing by a run entering the inning, Trevelyan Podawiltz drew a walk and was replaced by pinch-runner Toshi Gilginas, who later scored on a wild pitch to tie the game at 2-2 before Escandon’s heroics.

Drew Warner allowed just two runs, one earned, on six hits and struck out four in a complete-game effort on the mound, and Andreas Simonsen went 2-for-2 eith a walk for Edmonds-Woodway (11-5, 8-1 Wesco 3A/2A South).

Hudson Cunningham went 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI, and Jake Lockwood allowed just two runs for four hits in six quality innings for Shorecrest (9-6, 5-4).

Non-league

Monroe 2, Juanita 1 (12)

KIRKLAND — Harlan Rowe drove in the winning run with a double in the top of 12th inning and the Bearcats received 10 shutdown innings from their bullpen as they outlasted the Ravens.

Rowe went 3-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI, Eli Miller reached base three times and scored twice and Rylan Hampton had three hits for Monroe (10-4). Mason Bingham tossed two scoreless innings of relief, Caleb Campbell struck out four in six scoreless innings of relief and Miller earned the win with two strikeouts over two scoreless innings of relief.

Patrick Klinkenberg had two hits and reached base four times for Juanita (7-9).

EVERETT — Shayne Hoekendorf drove in three runs and the Seagulls turned a game-ending 4-6-3 double play to hold for a non-league win over the Bulldogs.

Hoekendorf went 2-for-3 with a double and a stolen base and Madeline Prewitt hit a solo home run for Everett (5-5). Isa Davis picked up the win, striking out five and allowing five hits, two walks and two runs in a complete game.

Olivia Collins and Dakota Brown each homered for Mount Vernon (3-7).
