BOYS BASKETBALL

Wesco 4A

Lake Stevens 63, Glacier Peak 62

SNOHOMISH — Tyson Eyman scored a game-high 23 points and the Vikings held off a fourth-quarter comeback by the Grizzlies for a Wesco 4A victory.

Maddox Preder had 11 points, Marshall Adams added 10 and Javon McFerrin chipped in nine for Lake Stevens (8-3, 2-0 league), which built a 50-39 lead after three quarters.

Jo Lee netted 16 points, Nate Spang had 12 and Trey Leckner added 11 points for Glacier Peak (4-4, 0-1).

Wesco 3A/2A

Monroe 54, Stanwood 52

MONROE — Steven Kuhnle Jr. hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with under 20 seconds remaining and the Bearcats remained unbeaten with a key Wesco 3A/2A victory over the Spartans.

Kuhnle finished with 11 points, Hayden Creswell had a team-high 14 points and Will Prohn chipped in nine for Monroe (10-0, 6-0 league), which snapped Stanwood’s six-game win streak.

Max Mayo netted a game-high 22 points, John Floyd had nine points and Owen Thayer added nine points for the Spartans (10-2, 5-2).

Lynnwood 69, Cascade 68

EVERETT —Keegan Williams hit the go-ahead free throws with 10 seconds left and led four Royals in double figures with 19 points, including nine in the fourth quarter, and Lynnwood pulled out a come-from-behind victory over the Bruins in Wesco 3A/2A play.

Jace Hampson scored 16 points, Cimaryus Sterling added 14 and Jordan Whittle chipped in 10 for the Royals (3-8, 1-6 league), who trailed 56-60 entering the final period.

Devin Gilbert poured in a game-high 36 points and Aidan Kopra added 12 for Cascade (5-5, 2-4).

Non-league

Shoreline Christian 48, Darrington 41

DARRINGTON — Hunter Anderson led eight Darrington scorers with 12 points, but the Loggers fell to Shoreline Christian in a non-league contest.

Logan Lamore added nine points for Darrington (3-6).

Jaden Colver scored 29 points and Kaleb Carpenter chipped in 13 for Shoreline Christian (5-3).

Stadium 56, Edmonds-Woodway 37

TACOMA — The Warriors fell to Stadium in a non-league game.

Jen Simimson led Edmonds-Woodway (4-6 with 13 points and Dennis Karl added six.

Ne’quan Brown had 16 points to lead Stadium (8-2).

STANWOOD — Vivienne Berrett scored 22 points, Grace Walker had 19 points and the Spartans jumped out to a big lead early on their way to beating the Bearcats in Wesco 3A/2A play.

Walker connected on four 3-pointers, Chloe Santeford added 13 points and four other Spartans (9-1, 6-0 league) had six or more points. Walker and Berrett combined for 22 points in the first quarter as Stanwood built a 28-5 lead.

Adria Lincoln netted a game-high 24 points and made 8 of 8 free throws to lead Monroe (5-5, 1-5).

Shorewood 40, Archbisop Murphy 37

SHORELINE — Joy Brandenstein led a balanced effort with 10 points and the Stormrays earned a hard-fought Wesco 3A/2A win over the Wildcats.

Rachel Te added nine points and Shorewood (4-6, 2-4 league) held Archbishop Murphy to just four points in the third quarter.

Ava Marr led the Wildcats (8-4, 5-2) with 23 points and Brooke Blachly chipped in eight.

Non-league

Cedarcrest 51, Sedro-Woolley 28

DUVALL — Kiki Anderson scored 14 points and the Red Wolves picked up their first victory by beating the Cubs in a non-league game.

Belle Gellner added 10 points for Cedarcrest (1-9).

Olivia Stroud and Nadine Stratton had seven points apiece for Sedro-Woolley (1-10).

Darrington 59, Shoreline Christian 10

DARRINGTON — Allie Cochran had 20 points and nine rebounds as the Loggers routed Shoreline Christian in a non-league contest.

Claire Wright added 12 points and three steals, and Kenadie Hoglund had nine points and five assists for Darrington (6-2).

Shoreline Christian fell to 0-7.
