No. 4 Mead 69, No. 2 Arlington 67
TACOMA — Teryn Gardner converted a 3-point play with 1 second left and the fourth-seeded Mead High School girls rallied in the fourth quarter to top second-seeded Arlington, 69-67, in the third/fifth-place game of the Class 3A Hardwood Classic on Saturday at the Tacoma Dome.
Junior point guard Samara Morrow scored a game-high 21 points and added four assists and three steals for Arlington (22-4). Senior guard Jenna Villa posted a double-double with 20 points, 12 rebounds and four assists, and senior guard Maddy Fischer added eight points and three assists.
Gardner, a junior guard, paced Mead (21-4) with 17 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Junior forward Miah Cyr hit four 3-pointers and scored 13 points, freshman guard Addison Wells Morrison added 11 points and senior guard Teayona Hoard chipped in eight points in three steals.
The Eagles led most of the way and held their biggest lead of the game at 63-47 in the fourth before the Panthers mounted their comeback. Mead shot 64% from the field (16-of-25) in the second half, including 7-of-10 from beyond the arc.

No. 6 Stanwood 52, No. 5 Lincoln (Tacoma) 45
TACOMA — Vivienne Berrett scored a game-high 24 points and the sixth-seeded Stanwood High School girls pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 52-45 victory over fifth-seeded Lincoln (Tacoma) in the fourth/sixth-place game of the Class 3A Hardwood Classic on Saturday at the Tacoma Dome.
The fourth-place finish is the best in program history for the Spartans (22-6).
Berrett, a senior, shot 11-of-19 from the field and added four rebounds and three blocks. Freshman Ellalee Wortham had 15 points and four rebounds, senior Grace Walker added six points and seven boards and sophomore Ava Depew chipped in seven assists.
Freshman Oliviyah Edwards led the Abes (21-6) with 18 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks. Malani Warren scored 11 points and Jaleigha Robinson added six points and seven rebounds.
Stanwood outscored Lincoln 13-6 in the final period after entering the fourth tied at 39. The Spartans shot 54.2% from the field (13-of-24) in the second half and held the Abes to just 33.9% from the field (19-of-56) for the game.

No. 3 Wapato 65, No. 5 King’s 53
YAKIMA — Freshman standout Kaleo Anderson scored a team-high 16 points and added eight rebounds, but fifth-seeded King’s fell to No. 3 Wapato to finish in fifth place in the 1A state tournament on Saturday at the Yakima Valley SunDome.
Senior Ava Francisco scored 14 points and added nine rebounds, and freshman Kaitlin Cramer added 12 points for King’s (23-4), which placed for the first time since finishing second in 2016.
KK Bass scored a game-high 29 points and added 11 rebounds for Wapato (24-2), which placed in the top four of the 1A state tournament for the second straight season.

No. 1 Lynden Christian 57, No. 5 King’s 47
YAKIMA — Jeremiah Wright and Tyler Sipma scored 15 points each as top-seeded Lynden Christian beat No. 5 King’s in the 1A state title game for the second straight season.
Cameron Hiatt scored a game-high 16 points and added seven rebounds, and Nick Linhardt added 10 for King’s (20-6), which finished second for third time in the past nine seasons, including three state titles.
Lane Dykstra added 11 points for Lynden Christian (25-2), which won its eighth state title in program history.
The matchup was third straight full-length season the two 1A powerhouses met in the state championship game.
