Prep roundup for Saturday, Nov. 16:

GIRLS SOCCER

4A State Playoffs (loser out)

Lake Stevens 3, Skyline 2

SAMMAMISH — The eight-seeded Vikings (17-1-2) staged an upset in the quarterfinals of the state tournament, defeating the top-seeded Spartans (17-2-3) to advance to the state semifinals. It was a back-and-forth affair that saw the Skyline equalize and Lake Stevens score the game-deciding goal all in the final 15 minutes of the contest. Audrey McKenna scored the game-winner and Keira Tupua came up huge for the Vikings’ attack, finishing with a goal and an assist. The Vikings will face Issaquah at 7 p.m. Nov. 22 at Sparks Stadium in Puyallup for a spot in the state finals.

VOLLEYBALL

The seedings and first-round opponents for the upcoming 4A and 3A state tournaments Nov. 22-23 at the Yakima Valley SunDome are currently being decided by the WIAA.

2A State Tournament

Archbishop Murphy finishes fourth in state

YAKIMA — The fourth-seeded Wildcats (20-4) went 2-2 in the state tournament to earn a fourth-place finish. After winning their opening matches by a combined score of 6-1, Archbishop Murphy was swept by top-seeded Ellensburg in the semi-finals. They would go on to lose their third-place match to second-seeded Burlington-Edison to end their run in the 16-team tournament.

4A District 1/2 Tournament (both to state)

Lake Stevens 3, Issaquah 1

KIRKLAND — The Vikings (17-3) captured the district title with a win over the Eagles (18-4) by set scores of 25-16, 25-15, 22-25 and 25-21. Laura Eichert was a force on offense, registering 28 kills. Jayci Scrivens, Audrey Iseminger and Ella Iseminger combined for 51 digs to help keep Issaquah off the board.

Glacier Peak 3, Arlington 1

3A District 1 Tournament (both to state)

Lynnwood 3, Snohomish 1

STANWOOD — The Royals (14-6) won the district title over the Panthers (13-6). The win marked the seventh consecutive trip to state for Lynnwood as they, along with Snohomish, await the announcement of the state tournament seeding.

Ferndale 3, Edmonds-Woodway 1

State Swimming and Diving at King County Aquatic Center

4A Finals

Jackson finished third in the 4A meet, led by Olivia Hoyla’s third-place finish in the 200 individual medley and fourth-place in the 100 backstroke. Hoyla also participated on Jackson’s runner-up finish in the 200 freestyle relay along with Elissa Anderson, Megan Wang, and Julia Song. Glacier Peak finished eighth.
